Martin Chipimo
Program Manager

Martin Chipimo serves as the Program Manager at CURE Zimbabwe. In this position, he oversees the overall management of the day-to-day (routine) general services and operational functions of the hospital to ensure the safety and functionality of the facility to both staff and patients at CURE Zimbabwe.

Martin worked for six and a half years at Beit CURE Zambia as an Operations Manager and Associate Project Manager. He also served as the Administration and Finance Manager at the Zimbabwe Theology College of Zimbabwe (TCZ) for a period of ten years. Martin holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Solusi University in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, and is a graduate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe (CIS) and several diplomas from other institutions of higher learning.

Martin is passionate about his call to serve children living with disabilities at CURE Zimbabwe, which stems from what he experienced while serving in Zambia, where lives were transformed medically and spiritually.

Martin is happily married to Elizabeth and is blessed with two boys, Crispen Munashe and Sheanesu. As a family, they enjoy fellowship with other Christians at church.

Faith Gondwe
Human Resource Manager

Faith Gondwe serves as the Human Resource Manager for the CURE Children’s Hospital of Zimbabwe. In this role, she is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function. Previously, Faith worked at a surgical hospital in Bulawayo in Human Resources for six years. She has nine years of experience in Human Resources and Administration and a master’s degree in Human Resources.

Faith loves working in a place where she can bring her faith into her work every day. She finds that working at CURE Zimbabwe is an opportunity and honor to help children living with disabilities and enjoys being an important contributor to the community.

Outside of work, Faith enjoys arts and crafts and has a small sign art business. She also loves writing and reading inspirational and Christian literature.

Wilson Maclean Kakumura
Quality and Patient Safety Manager

Wilson serves as the Quality and Patient Safety Manager at the CURE Children’s Hospital of Zimbabwe. In this role, he is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, and internal auditing of the hospital’s quality and safety management systems.

Wilson has a Master’s Degree in Safety Health and Environmental Management from Midlands State University, a Master’s class in Health Care Quality, an Honors degree in Public Health from the National University of Science and Technology, and a Diploma in General Nursing from United Bulawayo Hospitals. He also has postgraduate executive certificates in Occupational Safety; Health and Environmental Management courses 1 and 2; Project Management; Monitoring and Evaluation; Workplace Safety and Emergency Preparedness; ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems; Development and implementation; and ISO 45001 OSH lead audit training.

He is excited about using his education and skills at CURE Zimbabwe to change children’s lives and spread the gospel. Wilson is married to his wife Omega and they have a son Craig and a daughter Shantel. Together, they enjoy traveling and camping.

Terrence Kandiado
Head of Finance and Administration

Terrence serves as CURE’s head of finance and administration in Zimbabwe. He ensures the efficient management of funds, compliant accounting practices, and robust internal control systems.

Terrence served his articles of clerkship with Baker Tilly Chartered Accountants while studying with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), where he earned a diploma and an advanced diploma in accounting and business, as well as a certificate in ethics and professionalism. During his clerkship, he served as president of the Chartered Accountants Students Society (CASS).

He has worked as a business and automation consultant in various sectors, ranging from hospitality to farming. He has over seven years of experience in audit, assurance, and managerial accounting.

Terrence loves working at CURE because it’s a rare and special opportunity to combine his love for all things Christ, his passion for children’s work, and his gifts in finance and administration in one organization that prioritizes these areas.

Outside of work, Terrence is a student of Christian apologetics and enjoys distance running. He is married to his wife, Lenience.

Grace Mangwende
Spiritual Director

Grace is the spiritual director for CURE Zimbabwe. She coordinates the hospital’s spiritual programs, chapel services, staff devotionals, ministry outreach to patients, volunteers, and community outreach programs. She is committed to CURE’s mission to heal the sick and proclaim the kingdom of God – a complete picture of the gospel.

Grace has an associate’s degree in practical ministry from Charis Bible College.

When she’s not at CURE, Grace loves to spend time with her family and enjoys picnics. She is married to Mubaiwa, and they have two sons: Michael and Daniel.

Edith Mutsatsa
Nurse Manager

Edith serves as the Nurse Manager at CURE Children’s Hospital of Zimbabwe. She brings over 20 years of experience working in hospitals in Harare and Bulawayo. Edith has also been a member of the Infection Control Association of Zimbabwe since 2015.

In her role at CURE Zimbabwe, she ensures quality nursing care throughout the hospital to the patients we serve and manages the nursing staff. Edith also heads up infection control and makes sure that the hospital is adequately resourced with the critical items needed for nursing care.

Edith has a heart for the kids we serve and for orthopedics. She loves to apply her skills at CURE Zimbabwe where the mission is clear in treating the patients in totality – physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

Jonathan Simpson
Executive Director

Jonathan serves as CURE Zimbabwe’s Executive Director. In this role, he maintains overall accountability for the operational, financial, and clinical health of the hospital, as well as related programs within the country.

Jonathan has a postgraduate degree in geographical spatial development and 13 years of experience within the nonprofit sector. He has worked as Tearfund’s design monitoring and evaluation advisor for Southern and East Africa, Tearfund’s ECHO project manager, and World Vision’s Zimbabwe program information officer.

Jonathan believes in the necessity of addressing people’s needs in a holistic way–spiritually and physically–and he is grateful to work at an organization with holistic healing as their mission statement. Jonathan was born in Zimbabwe and loves his country. The opening of CURE Zimbabwe will bring hope and much-needed healthcare to the nation; he is thrilled to be a part of it.

He is married to Katherine and has two sons, Peter and Richard. As a family, they love spending time in the beauty of Africa’s wilderness, camping, and enjoying the outdoors whenever possible.

Dr. Sam Weston-Simons
Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Sam serves as a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at CURE Zimbabwe, where he specializes in limb reconstruction and assists with training the next generation of surgeons.

He attended University College London School of Medicine, with pediatric orthopedic fellowships at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, and Sheffield Children’s Hospital in the United Kingdom before serving as an orthopedic consultant at Evelina Children’s Hospital in London, where he helped establish a limb reconstruction unit. He was also a fellow at CURE Malawi and has worked in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.

Dr. Sam is married with two young children and enjoys hiking and riding his bike.

Dr. Laurence Wicks
Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Wicks serves as an Orthopedic Surgeon at CURE Zimbabwe. He attended medical school in Leicester and completed surgical training in the Midlands, both in the UK. His pediatric orthopedic fellowship was at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Laurence has also spent time working in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, and has been making annual visits to Ethiopia since 2013 to support training and capacity-building in the country.

Laurence is married and has three children. He loves strong coffee, running, and jazz.

Thulani Ndlovu - Facility Manager
Thulani Ndlovu
Facility Manager

Thulani serves as the Facility Manager at CURE Zimbabwe. He oversees the maintenance and operation of the hospital’s buildings, mechanical systems, grounds, and utility infrastructure to ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients, caregivers, and staff. This contributes to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Prior to joining CURE, Thulani worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 12 years. He holds a Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Systems and Operations Management, a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical and Process Systems Engineering, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management.

Dr Sarah Hodges
Dr. Sarah Hodges
Anaesthetist

Dr. Sarah Hodges works as an anesthetist at CURE Children’s Hospital of Zimbabwe. She qualified from Liverpool University in the UK and completed her anesthesia postgraduate training in the Southwest Deanery UK, obtaining her FRCA in 2004. She has worked in Africa for many years and joined CURE in January 2020. Her special interests are regional anesthesia and the difficult airway. She is married to Andrew Hodges and has three grown-up children. Any spare time is dedicated to playing tennis.
