Martin Chipimo serves as the Program Manager at CURE Zimbabwe. In this position, he oversees the overall management of the day-to-day (routine) general services and operational functions of the hospital to ensure the safety and functionality of the facility to both staff and patients at CURE Zimbabwe.
Martin worked for six and a half years at Beit CURE Zambia as an Operations Manager and Associate Project Manager. He also served as the Administration and Finance Manager at the Zimbabwe Theology College of Zimbabwe (TCZ) for a period of ten years. Martin holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Solusi University in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, and is a graduate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe (CIS) and several diplomas from other institutions of higher learning.
Martin is passionate about his call to serve children living with disabilities at CURE Zimbabwe, which stems from what he experienced while serving in Zambia, where lives were transformed medically and spiritually.
Martin is happily married to Elizabeth and is blessed with two boys, Crispen Munashe and Sheanesu. As a family, they enjoy fellowship with other Christians at church.
Faith Gondwe serves as the Human Resource Manager for the CURE Children’s Hospital of Zimbabwe. In this role, she is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function. Previously, Faith worked at a surgical hospital in Bulawayo in Human Resources for six years. She has nine years of experience in Human Resources and Administration and a master’s degree in Human Resources.
Faith loves working in a place where she can bring her faith into her work every day. She finds that working at CURE Zimbabwe is an opportunity and honor to help children living with disabilities and enjoys being an important contributor to the community.
Outside of work, Faith enjoys arts and crafts and has a small sign art business. She also loves writing and reading inspirational and Christian literature.
Bulisani is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) with eleven years of progressive experience in the NGO finance sector. He holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting and Finance, an Honours Degree in Accounting, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Taxation. He is also a Certified Tax Accountant, an Associate Member of the Institute of Certified Tax Accountants, and a Registered Member of the Public Accountants and Auditors Board.
Before joining CURE, Bulisani served as a Project Accountant on a U.S. Government-funded, multi-million-dollar program implemented across several regions of the country. This role strengthened his capabilities in grant financial management, donor compliance, and multi-site accounting support.
At CURE Zimbabwe, Bulisani’s role involves financial management, financial reporting, and cash flow planning and management, as well as ensuring compliance with internal controls and donor requirements. He oversees the Finance, Procurement, and Inventory Management functions of the organisation, supporting stewardship, accountability, and effective resource utilisation across all departments.
Bulisani is married to Lwandile, and they are blessed with two daughters, Awakhiwe and Andiswa. Outside of work, he enjoys fellowship and community life with his Christian family.
Dr. Andrew Hodges serves as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at CURE Zimbabwe.
He studied medicine at Birmingham University and trained to be a general surgeon. In 1992, Andrew and his wife, Dr. Sarah Hodges (lead anesthesiologist at CURE Zimbabwe), moved to Uganda to serve in a Church of Uganda mission hospital for seven years.
Motivated by the huge need he saw for pediatric plastic surgeons in places of poverty, Dr. Andrew returned to the UK to retrain in this specialty. Upon completion of his training in 2005, he returned to Uganda to work in Kampala, developing a new plastic surgery department as well as a postgraduate training program at CoRSU Hospital.
In 2020, the Hodges moved to the Philippines, where they joined the team at Tebow CURE. There, Dr. Andrew established and grew the plastic and reconstructive service line. The Hodges moved to Bulawayo, where they serve with CURE Zimbabwe, in 2023.
Dr. Andrew loves the ability to work alongside his wife while furthering the mission of CURE.
Dr. Sarah Hodges serves as the Lead for Anesthesia and Critical Care for the CURE network and practices at CURE Zimbabwe. In her role, she develops and maintains the highest standards in anesthesia care—ensuring safe surgery and recovery for all CURE’s patients.
Dr. Sarah received her medical degree at Liverpool University Medical School in Liverpool. She then started training in anesthesia and obtained her diploma in anesthetics from the Royal College of Anaesthetists. After working for a few years, Dr. Sarah and her husband, Dr. Andrew Hodges (lead plastic and reconstructive surgeon for the CURE network), moved to Uganda where they served in a mission hospital for several years.
They returned to the UK in 1998 where Dr. Sarah resumed her postgraduate training in anesthesia and passed her final exams with the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2002. Dr. Sarah and Dr. Andrew returned to Uganda in 2005 and served in several hospitals throughout the country. Dr. Sarah specializes in pediatric anesthesia, with a special interest in the difficult airway. She has also been involved in advocating for improved anesthesia provision in low- and middle-income countries.
In 2020, the Hodges moved to the Philippines, where they joined the team at Tebow CURE. There, Dr. Sarah led a team of anesthesiologists. The Hodges moved to Bulawayo, where they serve with CURE Zimbabwe, in 2023.
Wilson serves as the Quality and Patient Safety Manager at the CURE Children’s Hospital of Zimbabwe. In this role, he is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, and internal auditing of the hospital’s quality and safety management systems.
Wilson has a Master’s Degree in Safety Health and Environmental Management from Midlands State University, a Master’s class in Health Care Quality, an Honors degree in Public Health from the National University of Science and Technology, and a Diploma in General Nursing from United Bulawayo Hospitals. He also has postgraduate executive certificates in Occupational Safety; Health and Environmental Management courses 1 and 2; Project Management; Monitoring and Evaluation; Workplace Safety and Emergency Preparedness; ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems; Development and implementation; and ISO 45001 OSH lead audit training.
He is excited about using his education and skills at CURE Zimbabwe to change children’s lives and spread the gospel. Wilson is married to his wife Omega and they have a son Craig and a daughter Shantel. Together, they enjoy traveling and camping.
Grace is the spiritual director for CURE Zimbabwe. She coordinates the hospital’s spiritual programs, chapel services, staff devotionals, ministry outreach to patients, volunteers, and community outreach programs. She is committed to CURE’s mission to heal the sick and proclaim the kingdom of God – a complete picture of the gospel.
Grace has an associate’s degree in practical ministry from Charis Bible College.
When she’s not at CURE, Grace loves to spend time with her family and enjoys picnics. She is married to Mubaiwa, and they have two sons: Michael and Daniel.
Dr. Netsanet serves as a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon at CURE Zimbabwe.
She earned her medical degree from St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College, where she also worked as a Lecturer and General Practitioner in the surgery department and served as the Clinical Coordinator for undergraduate students. She later joined the orthopedic surgery residency program and became a member of the orthopedic surgery team at Addis Ababa Burn, Emergency, and Trauma (AaBET) Hospital, serving as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor of Orthopedics and Traumatology. Upon completing a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at CURE Ethiopia, she returned to St. Paul’s Hospital—first as a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon, then as Chief of the Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology Department—before joining CURE.
Dr. Netsanet is passionate about serving at CURE because it allows her to make a tangible impact by combining her clinical skills in pediatric orthopedic surgery with a mission-driven organization focused on healing and hope.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, including her husband and two daughters. She also makes time for swimming, reading, prayer, and watching educational videos.
Edith serves as the Nurse Manager at CURE Children’s Hospital of Zimbabwe. She brings over 20 years of experience working in hospitals in Harare and Bulawayo. Edith has also been a member of the Infection Control Association of Zimbabwe since 2015.
In her role at CURE Zimbabwe, she ensures quality nursing care throughout the hospital to the patients we serve and manages the nursing staff. Edith also heads up infection control and makes sure that the hospital is adequately resourced with the critical items needed for nursing care.
Edith has a heart for the kids we serve and for orthopedics. She loves to apply her skills at CURE Zimbabwe where the mission is clear in treating the patients in totality – physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
Jonathan serves as CURE Zimbabwe’s Executive Director. In this role, he maintains overall accountability for the operational, financial, and clinical health of the hospital, as well as related programs within the country.
Jonathan has a postgraduate degree in geographical spatial development and 13 years of experience within the nonprofit sector. He has worked as Tearfund’s design monitoring and evaluation advisor for Southern and East Africa, Tearfund’s ECHO project manager, and World Vision’s Zimbabwe program information officer.
Jonathan believes in the necessity of addressing people’s needs in a holistic way–spiritually and physically–and he is grateful to work at an organization with holistic healing as their mission statement. Jonathan was born in Zimbabwe and loves his country. The opening of CURE Zimbabwe will bring hope and much-needed healthcare to the nation; he is thrilled to be a part of it.
He is married to Katherine and has two sons, Peter and Richard. As a family, they love spending time in the beauty of Africa’s wilderness, camping, and enjoying the outdoors whenever possible.
Dr. Bhekinkosi R.D. Swene serves as Doctor in Charge at CURE Zimbabwe, where he acts as a liaison between the hospital and outside agencies and assists new and visiting practitioners with the registration process.
Dr. Bhekinkosi earned his medical degree from the University of Zimbabwe in 2010 and completed a fellowship in orthopedic surgery with the College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa in 2017. He also serves as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and the Head of the Orthopedics Department at United Bulawayo Hospitals.
He loves working with CURE and seeing the smiles on the faces of the children who have benefitted from our services.
Outside of work, Dr. Bhekinkosi enjoys reading and cycling. He is married to Buhlebenkosi, and they have four children.
Dr. Wicks serves as the Medical Director at CURE Zimbabwe, where he manages the day-to-day operations of surgery and treatment for patients at the hospital. He attended medical school in Leicester and completed surgical training in the Midlands, both in the UK. His pediatric orthopedic fellowship was at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Laurence has also spent time working in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, and has been making annual visits to Ethiopia since 2013 to support training and capacity-building in the country.
Laurence is married and has three children. He loves strong coffee, running, and jazz.
Thulani serves as the Facility Manager at CURE Zimbabwe. He oversees the maintenance and operation of the hospital’s buildings, mechanical systems, grounds, and utility infrastructure to ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients, caregivers, and staff. This contributes to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
Prior to joining CURE, Thulani worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 12 years. He holds a Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Systems and Operations Management, a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical and Process Systems Engineering, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management.
